Ruthlyn Swaby is an educator and an artist, currently working in the field of education and visual arts facilitating the academic and professional development of student-teachers in their preparation for the teaching profession.   Her passion for education is visible in 28 years of teaching experience which includes teaching at early childhood, primary, secondary, continuing education, undergraduate and graduate levels of the education system.  She is currently serving in the capacity of lecturer at The Mico University College (the college of choice for teacher education), and facilitator for online education courses at University of the West Indies Open Campus. Mrs. Swaby also volunteers her service part-time as Executive Director at YWCA Kingston, and as a member of the Board of Directors for St. Barnabas Early Childhood Development Centre.

 Her academic accomplishment includes Master of Education with a concentration on lifelong learning obtained from Mount Saint Vincent University Canada, Bachelor of Arts with honors obtained at the University of the West Indies Mona and the Edna Manley college for the Visual and Performing Arts, and Diploma in Teaching with specialization in visual arts which she obtained at The Mico University College.  She is presently doing doctoral studies in education.

She endeavours to offer service with full commitment to the best of her ability by working collaboratively, to share ideas and engage in activities that will facilitate human resource development and social change.
